bufferzone başlıyor;
Apartman Projesi nin bölünmüş şehirleri esas alan proje serisinin ilki olan ‘buffer zone’ Uqbar (Berlin)
ve EMAA (Lefkoşa) işbirliğiyle düzenlenen atölye çalışmaları serisi ile 15 Martta Berlin, İstanbul ve
Lefkoşa’dan davet edilen oniki sanatçı ve sanat kollektifinin katılımıyla başlıyor.
Hasan Aksaygın, Özgür Demirci, Didem Erk, Gabriele Garavaglia, Anna Heidenhein, Naomi Henning,
Eleni Mouzourou, Erhan Öze, Pick Nick (Panayiotis Michael, Maria Petrides, Alkis Hadjiandreou),
Sümer Sayın, Birgit Auf der Lauer & Caspar Pauli’nin yer alacağı projenin İstanbul ayağı 28 Mart a
kadar sürecek.
Sanatçılar 15 gün içersinde bireysel araştırmalarına devam etmenin yanısıra diğer sanatçılarla
birarada olmanın, paylaşmanın getirdiği farklı deneyimlerden beslenecek, farklı malzemelerden doğan
çeşitli anlatımlar ve katılımcıların süreç içersinde ürettikleri çizim, fotoğraf, video, yazı, etkileşim ve
konuşmalarından oluşan deneysel bir atölye süreci yaşayacaklar.
Atölye çalışmaları 15-28 Mart tarihleri arasında aynı zamanda Salt Galata’nın ev sahipliğinde de
gerçekleşecek olan bu proje kentte kamusal yaşamın algılanışı, toplumsal ikililik ,
İstanbul’da kentsel bölünmenin tarihsel arkaplanı, bölünmüş kentler gibi alt konu başlıklarıyla Nora Seni,
Orhan Esen, Mert Eyiler, Sabine Kupher Busch, Thomas Busch ve Mesut Tufan’ın da aralarında yer
aldığı tarihçi, sosyolog , mimar ve gazeteci araştırmacıların gerçekleştireceği bir dizi konuşma ve film
gösterimi programda yer alıyor.

`Bufferzone`,the first of a series of Apartment Project workshops focusing on divided cities in
collaboration with Uqbar(Berlin) and EMAA(Nicosia) will begin on March 15th with the participation of
twelve artists and art collectives invited from Berlin, Istanbul and Nicosia.
The activities in Istanbul will continue until March 28th and include Hasan Aksaygın, Özgür Demirci,
Didem Erk, Gabriele Garavaglia, Anna Heidenhein, Naomi Henning, Eleni Mouzourou, Erhan Öze, Pick
Nick (Panayiotis Michael, Maria Petrides, Alkis Hadjiandreou), Sümer Sayın, Birgit Auf der Lauer and
Caspar Pauli
Throughout these fifteen days, the artists will continue their individual work on concepts such as the
various meanings of `borders` from different cultural, socioeconomic, and lingual viewpoints, and
pondering on the state of being a `neighbor’ and being apart/different. The drawings, photographs,
videos and articles created during this time frame will reflect what is borne of this sharing of different
experiences, interactions, and conversations.
Between March 15th and 28th, alongside the workshops to be held under the sponsorship of Salt Galata,
the project will be supported with a series of talks and film viewings including historians, sociologists
architects and researchers such as Nora Seni, Orhan Esen, Mert Eyiler, Sabine Kupher Busch-
Thomas Busch and Mesut Tufan. The themes to be covered include the perception of urban life, social
duality, the historical background of urbanization in Istanbul and divided cities.
